Finals - CVLCC wins 1st place

The very beginning of the final where everyone was nervous
and anxious to know what will happen and who would bring the
championship home.
Starting off playing defensive since we knew Wolf
Canyon is a good school and was in 1st place.
Wolf Canyon gets the first goal in and things
were already starting to look not so good.

They were ahead and kept trying to score more taking
every opportunity they had.

CVLCC gives a through pass and the forwards sprints
towards the ball and ties it up.  We were now back in the
game and started thinking positive.

A little after we score 2 more goals and were ahead
3-1! Second half came in the Wolf Canyon scores 2 goals
its now a tie game 3-3 and the game is anyones.

Both teams had their opportunities and both missed penalties
and free kicks. They went to extra time and CVLCC took the victory
with a goal living the final score 4-3.

Parents and friends supporting the game.

They got trophies and medals.

Players as happiest as they can be.

Keeping the tradition, throwing water from the cooler
to the best coach for such a great season.

At the end of the game the girls got their medals as well
as the 3 coaches and coach Ibanes had something to say
to each individual and put the medals on them.

Michelle, one of the players I already knew from internship
and got closer to throughout the season.

She's one of the players I worked with and tried to
improve her skills such as kicking the ball correctly
and harder. I also tried helping her out using her body.

We had the complete team all gathered up with our
medals and trophy.
A couple minutes later they ended up
breaking the trophy since they all wanted
to hold it and get their excitement out.

Mr. Ibanes the main coach, me and Mr. Garcia another
assistance coach.

Girls Semi Finals - CVLCC vs Greg Rogers 6-4

Girls playing offside correctly and marking well.
Getting easy free kicks and looking for the forwards
to start attacking up front.

Coach Ibanes being strict, making sure they
stay on their mark not leaving anyone open
that could get near the goal.

We finally score a goal and get he first goal in. Up
to this point the score is 1-0 our lead.
Not much time after the first goal we attack
go up and get another goal in 2-0.

I think we felt to comfortable for the game being
2-0 and felt that we had it under control. They get
a through ball and get a goal in.
2-1 were up by one but the game is still anyones game.

Here are some of our best throw ins
that gave us chances to go up and keep
scoring if not stay with the lead by having
the ball up there in Rogers danger zone.

Second half starts and CVLCC goes in nice
and strong with a chance at goal and score three
more right away.
5-2 near the beginning of first half and we were
pretty comfortable and happy with that score.

Substitutions coming their way and starting
players getting a break, letting everyone have fun
and get a chance to play.

Rogers doesn't give up and scores two more,
which kind of woke the girls up and made them play
stronger. They ended up scoring one more and the
game was very secure.
Final score 6-4 we finally beat Rogers the team
that was ahead of us near the end of the season and
the team we couldn't beat during the season. But
they gave it their all to take the win and move on
to finals against the 1st place team.

All the support we had at the semi final.

CVLCC vs Greg Rogers- Girls 1-2

Trying to win the ball in the air since
we have some pretty tall players and its good
to take advantage of that.

Using their body just like I thought them during practice
to make them stronger as individuals and to not be afraid. Not give away easy balls like that and take every opportunity we have.

Rogers in my opinion were always our rivals and it was always a close game. The first time we faced each other it ended up 4-5, their win, and the second time it was 1-2 again their win. They had some tough girls that new how to use their body and played the ball very well. We had to prepare our selves and train harder to meet them once more in the semi finals.

Practice - playing as a team

Some practices were just dedicated to playing together, passing the ball and getting to know each other better on the field.

Its good to teach them as child's to always play the open space. They still have a lot to learn and experience and hopefully they take away what I thought them  and things they found helpful.

With no pressure its good to advance and start attacking right in front of the goal, that way a goal has to go in sooner or later.
